4TH EDITION MOSES KIPTANUI CONSERVATION RUN

The 4th Edition Moses Kiptanui Conservation Run, organized by the Eldoret–Iten Water Fund under the patronage of world record holder Moses Kiptanui, was hosted at Kapkoros Senior School.

The event brought together 35 secondary schools with 403 participants under the theme “Running for Conservation.” Patron Moses Kiptanui, the first man in history to run the 3000m steeplechase in under 8 minutes (7:59.18, 1995), inspired students with his record-breaking legacy. Legendary athletes Joan Chelimo, Augustine Choge, Fred Kiptum, and Japhet Kimutai also graced the event.

Beyond the race, students planted trees in their schools as part of climate action, while partners with strong interests in conservation added their support. Every stride taken on the track echoed in the fight for a greener tomorrow.
